Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gilbervan Soares (ranked 1848 p4p, 7949 weight class) and Risto Rytina (ranked 230 p4p, 672 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Soares connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Rytina dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Soares. That did some damage!

Soares chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rytina can pounce on him.
Rytina tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Soares paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Soares tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rytina manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Gilbervan Soares will probably get the nod.

Soares remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
