Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Aldridge (ranked 5864 p4p, 4290 weight class) and Chival Rondou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rondou has chosen New Level as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marcus Aldridge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chival Rondou!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aldridge throws a left and a right that both miss
and Rondou counters with a one-two to the body.
Aldridge looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Rondou blocks a jab.
Rondou looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Rondou misses with a straight left.
Rondou misses with a head kick.
Rondou fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rondou throws a hook but Aldridge avoids it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rondou throws a shot from downtown. Aldridge moves away and avoids it.
It looked like Aldridge was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Rondou misses with a straight right.

Rondou moves into range and clinches up with Aldridge.

Rondou has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Aldridge uses from the top position.
Rondou looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Rondou wants to sweep but no luck.
Rondou is pulling down on Aldridge's head to control his posture.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Rondou's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Aldridge will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rondou is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rondou throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Rondou. Aldridge does a little dance to reset his feet.
Aldridge tried to counter with a leg kick but Rondou avoided it.
Aldridge uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rondou.

Rondou shoots for a double leg takedown but Aldridge sprawls well. He's pushed Rondou's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rondou misses with a double jab.
Aldridge takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Rondou should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Rondou throws a hook but Aldridge blocks it.
Aldridge slips a jab from Rondou.
Nice body kick from Rondou.
Rondou plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Rondou rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Aldridge moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Aldridge keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rondou.
Marcus Aldridge is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Aldridge uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rondou.
Aldridge swats away the attempt to clinch by Rondou.
Rondou lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rondou tries to clinch up but Aldridge circles away and keeps his distance.
Rondou is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Aldridge throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rondou looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Aldridge throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rondou is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Aldridge with a body shot.
Rondou tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Rondou has taken the fight to the clinch.
Come on Rondou - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Rondou is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rondou goes for a takedown attempt but Aldridge pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Marcus Aldridge is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Rondou has closed the distance and engaged Aldridge in a clinch.

Rondou breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rondou shoots in for a takedown but Aldridge shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Marcus Aldridge has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chival Rondou.

Rondou drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Aldridge on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Aldridge tries to get out of the position.

Rondou stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Aldridge swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rondou is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Rondou cracks Aldridge with a solid left hand.
Rondou scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Rondou showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Rondou controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Rondou has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rondou accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Rondou distracts Aldridge with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Rondou stays in close to Aldridge's body and controls the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Chival Rondou showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Aldridge takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
A slapping body kick lands there for Rondou.
Rondou throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Aldridge tries to counter with a takedown but Rondou is quick to defend against it.
Rondou swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Rondou has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rondou wants to clinch.
Chival Rondou seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rondou throws a half hearted mid kick.
Aldridge ducks under a wild hook from Rondou.

Rondou moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Aldridge. No joy for Rondou on that attempt.
Aldridge has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Aldridge there as he acknowledges the shot.

Aldridge is rocked!
Rondou will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Oh Aldridge is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rondou throws a hook but Aldridge avoids it easily.
Aldridge is looking for a counter combo.
Aldridge seems to have got his legs back now.
Aldridge stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rondou.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Rondou gets a clinch.
Aldridge prevents the takedown attempt.
Rondou putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Aldridge in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Rondou is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Rondou pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Rondou closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Rondou breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Aldridge ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Aldridge throwing a counter right hand but Rondou manages to avoid it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rondou swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Aldridge counters with a single leg into guard. Rondou didn't expect that.
Rondou bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Aldridge's guard.

Rondou with more of the same as he continues to hold on.

Rondou working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Aldridge's head.
Rondou throwing strikes but missing.
Rondou scoring with punches to the head and body.
Chival Rondou is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Rondou stays in close to Aldridge's body and controls the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well Rondou has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
