Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ard KO!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kari Pekka Perse!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
KO throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Perse will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Perse walks forward, straight into a front kick from KO.

Perse moves in looking to clinch but KO pushes him off.

KO is pushing Perse up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
KO creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Perse's defenses.

Perse shoots for a double leg takedown but KO sprawls well. He's pushed Perse's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

KO uses his free foot to push down on Perse's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Perse.
KO manages to capitalize on a mistake by Perse to take his back!
Perse is really stuck here.

Perse is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
KO is trying to stick to Perse's back but Perse is turning into KO. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in KO's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Perse.
KO on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if KO tries to get out of the position.
Perse looks gassed!

and KO counters with a left and a right that hurts Perse! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! KO jumps into full mount!
KO tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Perse is wriggling around trying to escape.
KO manages to capitalize on a mistake by Perse to take his back!
KO controls the position.

What can Perse do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Perse regains half guard.

KO knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Perse on the ground.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
KO takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Perse wants to sweep here but KO controlling him for the moment.
Perse bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in KO's guard.
KO avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Perse keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of KO's head.

Perse is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! KO is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! KO has escaped and now he's on top!

Perse looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! KO has picked Perse up and slammed him! Perse can't keep hold of the triangle and KO manages to pass to side control!

KO seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Perse is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but KO pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
KO content to slow the pace in the clinch.

KO escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Perse closes the distance looking to clinch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Perse works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Perse looks to land a combination but KO avoids it well.

and KO counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and KO counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Kari Pekka Perse has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
KO avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ard KO showed his dominance in that final round.
Well KO has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
