Arkin is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Tarkan - Şımarık. Steve Alves has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arkin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Alves manages to avoid it.
Alves takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Arkin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Arkin looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Alves!
Arkin throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Arkin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Arkin jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Alves is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Alves and Arkin has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Alves knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Arkin on the ground.

Arkin goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Alves rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Arkin's guard! Nice work there by Alves!

Arkin throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Alves escapes and throws Arkin's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Alves tries to stand but can't do so whilst Arkin controls his leg.
