Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jean Claude Bombaata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jari Nieminen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Bombaata.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bombaata.

Bombaata is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nieminen has escaped the position, nice work there.

Bombaata stands up and beckons Nieminen to his feet.
Nieminen doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Bombaata counters by clinching up.
Nieminen tries for a takedown. No joy.
Bombaata jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nieminen walks away with a smile on his face. Bombaata gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Bombaata has Nieminen up against the cage in a clinch.
Nieminen stalls.

Bombaata pulls guard effortlessly.

Nieminen postures up in Bombaata's guard and throws a big left but Bombaata blocks it.
Bombaata keeping moving, preventing Nieminen from controlling successfully.

Nieminen drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bombaata manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nieminen has Bombaata in his guard.
Nieminen looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Bombaata is stalling in the full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bombaata stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nieminen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bombaata prevents Nieminen from getting back to his feet.
Nieminen trying to keep a closed guard but Bombaata is proving a slippery customer.
Bombaata wants to get up but he can't break Nieminen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Bombaata is looking to advance position but Nieminen has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Nieminen cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Nieminen misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Bombaata slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Nieminen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bombaata doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Nieminen.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bombaata is breathing heavily.
Bombaata trying to hold on to Nieminen's head to control him but Nieminen postures up.

Nieminen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bombaata defends it well.
Bombaata wants to control but Nieminen is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Nieminen prevents Bombaata from improving his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Bombaata's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Nieminen tries for a takedown but Bombaata sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bombaata shoots in but no luck this time.
Nieminen throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Bombaata throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nieminen's waist but Nieminen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bombaata off to one side.

Bombaata shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bombaata showed some decent athleticism there.
Nieminen moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nieminen lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bombaata!

Bombaata defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Nieminen.

Nieminen pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Bombaata knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nieminen on the ground.

Jari Nieminen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Nieminen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bombaata's guard.
Bombaata is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Nieminen dives into side control.
