The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kar gets the takedown into side control.
Hetfield looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Kar tries to move to mount but Hetfield blocks the move with his legs.
A lull in the action here as Kar stalls from top position.

Kar is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hetfield is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Kar happy to just control the position for now.
Kar's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Let's hope that Kar has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Kar has hold of Hetfield's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Hetfield tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Kar cranks the arm and Hetfield screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Hetfield, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
