Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Calabi Yau (ranked 4509 p4p, 1221 weight class) and David Yung (ranked 553 p4p, 177 weight class). Yung has chosen 陳小春 - 亂世巨星 as his entrance music. Calabi Yau has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Yung!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Yung has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

and Yung decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Yau's guard.
Yau is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Yung working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Yau will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Yung accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That was a close round but I would say that Calabi Yau will probably get the nod.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Yau is trying to control the position but Yung postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yung is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Yau lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Yung has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Yung and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Yung does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Yau lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

I would just about give that final round to David Yung.

After the fight, David Yung was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
