PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Sisk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Youngblood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Sisk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jordan Youngblood!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Youngblood stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Sisk shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Youngblood but Youngblood pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Youngblood takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Sisk shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sisk was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Sisk fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Sisk moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Youngblood has worked his arm free - good work by Youngblood!
Sisk looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Youngblood is avoiding damage well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Youngblood manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sisk's best efforts.

Sisk is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Youngblood has managed to free his arm - good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sisk shoots in but Youngblood avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Sisk throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Sisk rushes Youngblood and presses him up against the cage.
Sisk jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Youngblood walks away with a smile on his face. Sisk gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Sisk. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sisk shoots in and bounces Youngblood off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Youngblood is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sisk drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Youngblood dives on top into guard.

Sisk is breathing heavily.
Youngblood postures up in Sisk's guard and throws a big left but Sisk blocks it.
Youngblood really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sisk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Youngblood gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Youngblood tries to bum rush Sisk with a series of wild strikes but Sisk uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Sisk closes the distance and clinches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Youngblood breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A cross from Youngblood lands.
Sisk showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Youngblood.
Jordan Youngblood is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Youngblood takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Youngblood avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sisk dodges the punch combination from Youngblood.
Sisk tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Youngblood paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Youngblood goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Youngblood throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sisk doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Youngblood looks to land a combination but Sisk avoids it well.
Sisk throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Youngblood gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sisk thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Sisk looking to pass the guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Sisk dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Youngblood throws a right hand that Sisk ducks under and follows up with a left that Sisk also avoids with ease.
Sisk misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sisk bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Sisk fails with an attempt to clinch.
Youngblood misses with a double jab.
Sisk connects with a high kick.
Youngblood throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sisk.
Sisk throws a sloppy head kick and Youngblood moves out of range easily.

Sisk closes the distance and clinches.
Sisk lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Youngblood gets underhooks to prevent Sisk's takedown attempt.
Knees in the clinch landing for Sisk.
Youngblood tries to break the clinch but Sisk is controlling the position.

Youngblood breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A head kick from Sisk lands but Youngblood takes it in his stride.

Youngblood swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Sisk counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Youngblood!
Sisk takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
