The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sao Peao gets the takedown into side control.

Sao Peao stands up and beckons Melo to his feet.

Sao Peao closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Melo tries to escape but Sao Peao is in control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Melo being controlled for a moment.

Sao Peao working the head with strikes.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sao Peao is looking to take a break and control but Melo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jorge Sao Peao dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Sao Peao instigates a clinch.

Sao Peao pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Melo scores with a one two! Sao Peao had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Melo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Melo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sao Peao throws a head kick but Melo moves out of range.

Sao Peao closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Melo to the mat! Melo manages to get full guard.

Melo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Melo wants to stand up but Sao Peao is controlling him.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Melo looking for a sweep. Not yet Melo, not yet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Jorge Sao Peao showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Sao Peao pushes Melo up against the cage in a clinch.

Sao Peao has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Melo is trying to keep an underhook but Sao Peao manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Sao Peao prevents Melo from standing back up.
Sao Peao frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Sao Peao controlling the position easily from mount.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Let's hope that Sao Peao has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Melo bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sao Peao can do anything to dispel that myth.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Sao Peao kicks Melo off and gets to his feet.

Jorge Sao Peao comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
