Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rob Gaunce (ranked 2741 p4p, 3256 weight class) and Random Lik (ranked 288 p4p, 343 weight class). Gaunce comes to the cage accompanied by Special Ops. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Lik shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Gaunce is trying to stand back up but Lik is controlling him
Lik passes into side control, despite Gaunce's attempt to control the position.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Lik is persistently looking for the submission but Gaunce is defending it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

I really don't envy Gaunce right now.

Gaunce is trying to get back to his feet but Lik has full control of the position and if anything, Gaunce has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Lik is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Lik works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Lik got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gaunce has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lik has managed to get both his arms back between Gaunce's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Gaunce has momentary wrist control but Lik slips an elbow through the middle.
Lik seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Lik lands a couple of digs.

Gaunce is rocked!

Lik keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gaunce's head.
Oh Gaunce is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lik has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Lik gets to his feet and stands over Gaunce, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Gaunce felt that one! Lik unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Gaunce from any more punishment!
