Johnson lands with a shot to the body.
La Vie takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A jab from Johnson finds it's way through La Vie's defenses.

La Vie tries to score a body lock takedown but Johnson shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

La Vie has picked Johnson up - he's going for a ride! La Vie dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

La Vie seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
La Vie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. La Vie connects with a nice short shot to Johnson's temple.

La Vie is nestled in close to Johnson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw La Vie working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for La Vie on the ground.
