PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cole Jaques (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Jaques's choice of entrance music: Ride The Lightning by Metallica. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Hill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cole Jaques!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Jaques uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hill.
Jaques takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Jaques swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hill tries to clinch there but Jaques circles away.

Hill closes the distance and clinches.
Jaques wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Hill misses with a knee strike.
Hill throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Jaques blocks it with crossed arms.
Hill keeps control of Jaques as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Jaques pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hill misses the shot to the body.
Hill tries to clinch but Jaques is having none of it.
Horrible takedown by Jaques or perhaps it was just good defense by Hill which made him look bad.
Some wild striking there from Jaques.
Hill fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jaques lands with a straight right. Hill didn't see that one coming.
Hill dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Jaques. That did some damage!
Jaques misses with a takedown attempt - Hill sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Hill cracks the inside of Jaques's front leg.
Hill chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Jaques throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hill is looking to clinch.
Jaques connects with a crisp jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hill dodges the punch combination from Jaques.
Jaques jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Jaques throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Hill stumbling backwards into the cage! Hill bounces back off the cage towards Jaques, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Jaques lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Jaques celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
