Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tonimateu Felipao (ranked 2333 p4p, 3503 weight class) and Real Deal (ranked 320 p4p, 455 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Deal might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Deal fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Felipao looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Deal cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Deal enables Felipao to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Deal manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Felipao stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Deal swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Felipao drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Felipao jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Deal can do anything to dispel that myth.
Felipao passes easily into side control. Nice work.
