Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joe Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jack Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Peter Branson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wilson dives in and scores a takedown into Joe's guard.
Joe pulls Wilson in close to his closed guard and prevents Wilson from doing any damage or advancing position.
Wilson is looking to stand up but Joe won't let him.
Joe is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Joe stops Wilson from getting back to his feet.
Joe content to control rather than advance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Joe throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Joe connects with a nice short shot to Wilson's temple.

Joe postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Wilson looks a forlorn figure.

Wilson is trying desperately to improve position.
Wilson is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Wilson is trying to escape the mount.

Wilson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Joe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Joe can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wilson is looking to escape.

Wilson tries to lock up and control but Joe gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

As Wilson tries to get set, Joe tries to push him back and clinch up but Wilson manages to avoid the attempt.
Joe closes the distance and clinches up with Wilson, looking for a takedown. Joe pushes Wilson against the cage but Wilson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Wilson is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Wilson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Joe defends it nicely.

Wilson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Joe tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wilson is in Joe's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Wilson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Joe pulls Wilson in close to his closed guard and prevents Wilson from doing any damage or advancing position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Joe not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Joe lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Joe wants to control from the top but Wilson keeps moving.
Joe Joe overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Wilson has momentary wrist control but Joe slips an elbow through the middle.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wilson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wilson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Joe postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Joe slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
You can see the frustration on Wilson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Wilson tries to control but Joe manages to take his back.
Joe wants to control the position but Wilson frees himself and scrambles - Joe manages to regain control in side control.
Joe is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wilson can do to turn this around?

Joe thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Joe wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wilson, who protects the arm well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Joe Joe will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Joe shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Wilson napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Wilson bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Joe wants to control but Wilson is keeping busy.

Joe is looking for a sweep. Wilson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Wilson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Joe is on top in guard.

Joe wants to control from the top but Wilson keeps moving.
Joe is really struggling to control Wilson but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wilson fails with an attempt to clinch.

Wilson moves into the clinch.
Joe jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wilson walks away with a smile on his face. Joe gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Wilson circles away from the clinch attempt.

Joe darts in and clinches Wilson up against the cage.
Joe tries to break the clinch but Wilson is controlling the position.
Joe fails to pull guard.
Joe tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Joe. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Wilson successfully pulls guard.
Wilson pulls Joe in close to prevent any damage.
Wilson looking to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Joe trying to control the position from guard on top but Wilson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wilson wants to stand but Joe is controlling the position.
Wilson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Joe.
Joe slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Wilson wants to sweep here but Joe controlling him for the moment.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Jack Wilson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Joe has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
