Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ken Barlow (ranked 3712 p4p, 3792 weight class) and Danilo Hooper (ranked 479 p4p, 489 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Ken Barlow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danilo Hooper!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barlow shoots in looking for a takedown but Hooper manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Barlow's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hooper avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Nice combo by Hooper! Oh, that's hurt him - Barlow falls to the canvas and Hooper follows him into side control.

Barlow is rocked!

It looks like Ken Barlow has been cut.

Hooper goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Barlow has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Hooper but great work by Barlow.

Barlow has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hooper pushes Barlow away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Barlow gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Barlow is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hooper has escaped the position, nice work there.

Hooper really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barlow. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hooper tries to buck Barlow off but Barlow is having none of it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hooper can do anything to dispel that myth.
Barlow wants to control but Hooper is keeping him busy.

Hooper takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Barlow has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Hooper!

Hooper is bucking up trying to escape but Barlow cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Hooper really wants to buck Barlow off and get back to his feet.

Barlow can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hooper is looking to escape.

Barlow lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Hooper hang on?
Hooper can't escape the position.
Barlow trying to control but Hooper is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hooper tries to hold on but Barlow pushes him away.
Barlow can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hooper is looking to escape.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Barlow shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hooper but Hooper pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Barlow takes one to the side of the head.
Hooper looks to land a combination but Barlow avoids it well.
Barlow avoids the head kick by Hooper.
Hooper fails with an attempt to clinch.
A lazy left from Hooper finds it's target.

Hooper rushes Barlow and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Hooper avoiding damage.
A short uppercut from Hooper.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barlow tries for a takedown but Hooper manages to get underhooks.
Hooper lands a right hand that snaps the head of Barlow backwards.
Barlow tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hooper smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Barlow. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Barlow fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
As Barlow backs off Hooper throws a huge counter combo but Barlow manages to avoid it all.

Hooper drops his shoulder and cracks Barlow with a huge uppercut! Barlow goes down! Can Hooper finish him?
Hooper trying to control but Barlow is working from the bottom.
Hooper postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Barlow keeping moving, preventing Hooper from controlling successfully.
Hooper is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Hooper wants to stand but Barlow has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Hooper with a flurry of punches that miss.

Hooper wants to control from the top but Barlow keeps moving.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Ken Barlow overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Barlow trying to keep a closed guard but Hooper is proving a slippery customer.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Danilo Hooper seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Hooper has Barlow up against the cage in a clinch.
Barlow is looking to take this one to the mat.
Hooper lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Barlow backwards.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hooper is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Hooper using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Barlow has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Hooper works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hooper breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hooper swings for the body but Barlow moves out of range.
Barlow feinted with a counter takedown.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hooper jabs Barlow to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Ken Barlow is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hooper scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Hooper swinging wildly here.
BOOM! Hooper lands a beautiful left hook that drops Barlow. Barlow tries to recover but Hooper is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Barlow lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Danilo Hooper!
A relieved looking Danilo Hooper thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
