Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jared Tuttle (ranked 3046 p4p, 4965 weight class) and Barry McCockiner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jared Tuttle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Barry McCockiner!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tuttle wants to clinch.
A bone on bone clash there as McCockiner blocks the leg kick.
McCockiner tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Tuttle changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McCockiner tries to avoid it but Tuttle manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McCockiner to the ground. McCockiner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Tuttle takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Tuttle throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
As Tuttle backs off McCockiner throws a huge counter combo but Tuttle manages to avoid it all.
Tuttle shoots in but McCockiner avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Tuttle closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
McCockiner wants to get back to his feet but Tuttle is dominant here and he's now got McCockiner's back!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tuttle is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
McCockiner tries to roll but Tuttle sticks to his back.
McCockiner looks winded!

Tuttle trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure McCockiner doesn't escape.
Tuttle seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down McCockiner for as long as he can get away with.
Tuttle has the hooks in. McCockiner is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

McCockiner is in bad spot here.
McCockiner is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Tuttle.

McCockiner is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Tuttle is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Tuttle's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Tuttle shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McCockiner as he jumps to the side.

Tuttle closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

McCockiner is breathing heavily.

McCockiner has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Tuttle shoots in but McCockiner avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Barry McCockiner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tuttle shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. McCockiner is trying to defend but Tuttle finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Tuttle seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
McCockiner tries to kick Tuttle off but Tuttle keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tuttle wants to pass to mount but McCockiner is defending the position.
McCockiner is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tuttle postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for McCockiner to stand up.
Tuttle avoids the head kick by McCockiner.
McCockiner throws a series of punches but Tuttle avoids them all with ease.

Tuttle shoots in and gets a takedown into McCockiner's guard.
McCockiner is wriggling around but Tuttle manages to pass to half guard.


Tuttle gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Tuttle stands and steps away. McCockiner gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Tuttle misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McCockiner.
Tuttle misses with a takedown attempt - McCockiner sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

McCockiner rushes Tuttle and presses him up against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Tuttle jumps guard and drags McCockiner to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
McCockiner throws a strike but Tuttle rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Tuttle pushes down on McCockiner's leg and manages to get into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jared Tuttle will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

McCockiner lands with a thumping leg kick.

Tuttle looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Well, if Tuttle is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Tuttle has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

McCockiner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Tuttle gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Tuttle fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but McCockiner is out of range.
McCockiner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Tuttle shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tuttle wants to clinch.

Tuttle rushes McCockiner and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Tuttle tries for a takedown. No joy.

McCockiner breaks the clinch.

Tuttle closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. McCockiner quickly recovers to half guard.

McCockiner tries to kick Tuttle off but Tuttle keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Tuttle looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Barry McCockiner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jared Tuttle is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Tuttle walks into a stiff left hand from McCockiner.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jared Tuttle showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tuttle, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
