Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between George Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Duvel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Duvel!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a right hand that Duvel ducks under and follows up with a left that Duvel also avoids with ease.
Silva is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Silva stands up from half guard.
Silva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Duvel moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Silva lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Silva fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Duvel sprawls well initially but Silva persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Silva stands up and beckons Duvel to join him on the feet.

Silva moves in looking to clinch but Duvel pushes him off.

Duvel takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Duvel keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Silva changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Duvel looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva decides to stand back up. Silva steps back and let's Duvel get back to his feet.

Silva lands with a nice combination. Duvel backs away looking to recover.

George Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silva wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Silva lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Duvel circles away quickly and effectively.
Silva stalks Duvel and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Duvel's face. Duvel staggers backwards, shaken.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Silva is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Duvel counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Duvel.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Silva has his feet on Duvel's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Duvel takes a swing at Silva's ribcage but misses.
Silva misses with a kick to the body.
Silva ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Duvel fails in his attempt to clinch.
Silva throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Duvel stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Silva goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Silva moves in looking to clinch but Duvel pushes him off.
Silva fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Duvel gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Silva misses the body punch
and Duvel counters with a head kick. That will keep Silva thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
No luck for Silva with that takedown attempt.

Silva throws a series of punches but Duvel avoids them all with ease.

Silva rushes Duvel and presses him up against the cage.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Silva as Duvel tries to tie him up.
Duvel wants to break the clinch but can't.

Silva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Silva digs a good hook to Duvel's body.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Duvel crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Silva - the referee stops the clock and Duvel gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Silva. Duvel manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Silva bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Duvel misses with a looping left.
George Silva is winning the standup battle so far.
Silva scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Duvel doesn't seem bothered though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Silva lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Silva shoots in for a double leg but Duvel sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Silva.

so Duvel counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Silva wants to stand and escape but Duvel is having none of it.

Silva scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Duvel doesn't seem bothered though.

Silva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
George Silva overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Duvel thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Silva closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Silva wants to get back to his feet.

Silva stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Duvel to get to his feet.

Duvel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
