Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mario Bro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carl Alves!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.

Alves looks to score with a jab to the body but Bro is just out of range.
Alves lands with an overhand left.
Carl Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alves misses the shot to the body.
Good shot there by Alves.
Bro throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Alves throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Alves displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bro.
Alves looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Alves listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Bro on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Alves throws a right and a left that both miss.
Alves lands a head shot.
Alves misses the shot to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bro closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Alves did well to prevent Bro getting side control.
We've been hearing that Bro has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Bro is looking to pass Alves's guard but actually Alves recovers to full guard.

Alves is working an open guard so Bro takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Alves throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Carl Alves is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Alves ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bro moves away.
Alves fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bro takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Bro throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alves's waist but Alves gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bro off to one side.
Alves lands with a hook. Bro tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Alves throws a left and a right that both miss

and Bro counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bro has Alves pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Alves manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mario Bro. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Alves looking to stall.
Alves has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Bro tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Bro breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Alves lands a slapping body shot.

Bro scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Alves is looking to get back to his feet here but Bro is keeping cool and he's managed to take Alves's back.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bro has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Alves's body.

Alves is trying to stand back up.
Bro gets his hands free as Alves looks to control.
Alves really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bro loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can Alves hold on?
Alves is trying to stand back up.
Bro is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Alves is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Bro connects with a big shot to the side of Alves's head.
Alves is covering up but some of the strikes from Bro are getting through and doing damage.
Bro is punishing Alves with strikes - can he finish him?!
Bro has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bro is riding his opponent, not letting Alves buck him off.

Bro has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Alves! Can he survive? No! He's out! Bro gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
