PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gordon Murray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fat Bastard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fat Bastard will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bastard looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Murray tries to clinch but Bastard is having none of it.
Fat Bastard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bastard lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Murray backs up against the cage.

Murray changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bastard looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bastard can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Murray fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bastard sprawls well initially but Murray persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Murray throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bastard's waist but Bastard gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Murray off to one side.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Murray shoots in looking for a takedown. Bastard tries to sprawl out of it but Murray keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bastard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Murray is looking to control Bastard's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Murray avoid being mounted?

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bastard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Murray. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Murray is stalling here. Bastard is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Murray seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bastard has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

I would just about give that final round to Fat Bastard.
I think Bastard has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
