Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Brent drives through with a takedown into ZOldick's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Brent stands and steps away. ZOldick gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

A jab-cross combination lands for Brent and sends ZOldick crashing to the mat! Brent follows him down to the mat - ZOldick regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

It looks like Killua ZOldick has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

ZOldick is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Brent pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
ZOldick keeping hold of Brent's head, controlling as best he can.
ZOldick is looking for a sweep. Brent is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Brent wants to stand but ZOldick has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Brent wants to take a breather but ZOldick is having none of it.
ZOldick is holding on to half guard well.
ZOldick is trying to get back to full guard.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

ZOldick is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Brent stands up over ZOldick, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Brent wants to get up but he can't break ZOldick's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
ZOldick pulls Brent in close to prevent any damage.

ZOldick has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Brent doesn't defend quickly enough and ZOldick has managed to lock this one up! Can Brent escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to ZOldick on a fantastic submission victory.
