Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Avila Alvarez (ranked 14791 p4p, 21331 weight class) and Stick Kingkong (ranked 754 p4p, 709 weight class). Alvarez's entrance music is Barbarian by The Darkness. A fine choice. Avila Alvarez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 36 - 3, fighting out of London, Avila Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Stick Kingkong!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.

Kingkong will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Alvarez moves out of range of the strikes.
Kingkong displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Alvarez.

Alvarez drops back looking for a leg! Kingkong is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kingkong manages to kick Alvarez off! Alvarez jumps back into Kingkong's guard.

Alvarez checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Alvarez seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Alvarez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kingkong kicks Alvarez off and gets to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Alvarez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kingkong as he avoids it easily.

and Kingkong counters with a left and a right that stings Alvarez.

Kingkong is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Alvarez.
Alvarez moves in looking to clinch but Kingkong pushes him off.

Alvarez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kingkong has managed to free his arm - good work.

Alvarez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kingkong throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Alvarez on the side of the head.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kingkong pushes Alvarez away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Alvarez gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Alvarez is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Kingkong will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Alvarez goes for a double leg but Kingkong avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kingkong continues to drive forward.

Alvarez misses with a takedown attempt - Kingkong sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Stick Kingkong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Kingkong throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Alvarez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kingkong defends it nicely.
Alvarez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kingkong's waist but Kingkong gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alvarez off to one side.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kingkong is looking for a sweep. Alvarez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Alvarez is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Alvarez wants to free his trapped foot but Kingkong is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Alvarez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kingkong tries to avoid it but Alvarez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kingkong to the ground. Kingkong escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

I've got Kingkong winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
