PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Franklin Walter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Ray Kshymensky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Franklin Walter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesse Ray Kshymensky!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kshymensky fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kshymensky scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Kshymensky throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Kshymensky lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


It looks like Franklin Walter has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kshymensky just misses with a punch to the body.
Kshymensky lands with a slapping head kick.

Walter closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kshymensky to the mat! Kshymensky manages to get full guard.
Walter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kshymensky swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Walter trying to control the position from guard on top but Kshymensky is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kshymensky not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Walter won't allow Kshymensky to sweep him here.
Walter wants to control from the top but Kshymensky keeps moving.
Walter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kshymensky is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walter gets to his feet - Kshymensky follows without any prompting.
Kshymensky throws a nice looking combination but Walter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Walter moves into the clinch successfully.

Walter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kshymensky fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kshymensky looks gassed!
Kshymensky stuffs the takedown attempt from Walter. Walter gets slowly back to his feet.
Kshymensky keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Walter takes a swing at Kshymensky's ribcage but misses.
Kshymensky lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kshymensky.
Kshymensky throws a sloppy head kick and Walter moves out of range easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kshymensky tests Walter's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Walter has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Kshymensky.
Kshymensky ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Walter tries to keep at a distance but Kshymensky has taken the fight into the clinch.
The is referee keeping an eye on Kshymensky - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Kshymensky's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kshymensky throws a right and a left that both miss.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kshymensky, as that shot connected.
Walter tries to clinch up
and Kshymensky counters with a left to the body.
Walter moves out of range of the body kick from Kshymensky.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Walter missing with a left hand there. Kshymensky was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kshymensky keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Franklin Walter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Walter fails with an attempt to clinch.

Kshymensky shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Walter keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Walter is working hard here to advance position.
Kshymensky wants to control the pace but Walter is squirming around nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kshymensky tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Walter working to try and regain half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jesse Ray Kshymensky dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Walter keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

and Kshymensky counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Kshymensky tries a head kick but it misses.
Walter takes a kick to the side of the head.

Walter shoots in and bounces Kshymensky off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Walter postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kshymensky is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Walter, into his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Walter tries to land a sweep but no joy.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Walter is on top in guard.
Kshymensky is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Walter is controlling him.
Walter in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Walter trying to control but Kshymensky is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Walter is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kshymensky is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Walter is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Walter won't allow Kshymensky to get back to his feet.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Kshymensky scores with a nice body kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kshymensky lands a lovely overhand right.
A shot to de liver by Kshymensky. Beautiful body shot.
Some wild striking there from Kshymensky.
Kshymensky lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Kshymensky throws a head kick that misses.

Walter scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Walter scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Walter wants to control but Kshymensky is keeping him busy.
Walter performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Kshymensky gets full guard.
Walter wants to control from the top but Kshymensky keeps moving.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Franklin Walter will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Kshymensky rushes Walter and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Walter lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Kshymensky blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Walter has had enough of the clinch but Kshymensky keeps him there for the moment.

Kshymensky pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Walter moves in looking to clinch but Kshymensky pushes him off.

Walter shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Walter showed some decent athleticism there.
Walter is looking to take a break and control but Kshymensky is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Walter stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Kshymensky to get to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A head kick misses from Kshymensky.
Kshymensky lands a right hook to the body.
Jesse Ray Kshymensky seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Walter gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Kshymensky counters with a straight right hand.
Kshymensky comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Walter could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Walter feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Walter passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Kshymensky sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Walter thows a huge punch but Kshymensky dodges it nicely.
Walter wants to get back to his feet.

Kshymensky manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Kshymensky wants to clinch.
Walter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kshymensky as he jumps to the side.
Jesse Ray Kshymensky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Walter takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Kshymensky swinging wilding here.
Horrible takedown by Walter or perhaps it was just good defense by Kshymensky which made him look bad.

Walter gets the takedown into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kshymensky is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Walter has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Kshymensky dodges the ground and pound from Walter.
Walter advances nicely into full mount.
Kshymensky tries to hold on but Walter postures up.
Walter landing punches.
Kshymensky really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Walter tries to control but Kshymensky wriggling away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A nice elbow there by Walter.
Walter can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kshymensky is looking to escape.
Walter connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Kshymensky is in all sorts of trouble here.
Kshymensky wants to control but Walter is having none of it.
Kshymensky might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Walter kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

And that's the end of the fight!
Franklin Walter showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Walter has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
