PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mort Kinkade (ranked 4939 p4p, 4041 weight class) and Brian Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lewis has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Brian Lewis is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brian Lewis!

Lewis gets tackled into the cage by Kinkade. Kinkade maintains the clinch.

Kinkade closes the distance and clinches up with Lewis, looking for a takedown. Kinkade pushes Lewis against the cage but Lewis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Kinkade shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lewis sprawls well. Lewis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kinkade gets slowly back to his feet.

Lewis slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Horrible takedown attempt by Lewis or perhaps it was just good defense by Kinkade, which made it look bad.

Lewis looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Kinkade passes into half guard.
Lewis gets back to full guard.
Lewis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lewis is looking for a triangle but Kinkade pushes his legs off easily.
Kinkade wants to pass the guard but Lewis is keeping the position.

Lewis is working an open guard so Kinkade takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Kinkade looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lewis is fending him off so far but Kinkade persists. Nope, Lewis circles away and we're back to standing.

Kinkade shoots for a takedown but Lewis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Kinkade feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Lewis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kinkade defends well.
Kinkade will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

As Lewis tries to get set, Kinkade tries to push him back and clinch up but Lewis manages to avoid the attempt.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lewis connects with a nice short shot to Kinkade's temple.

Kinkade knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lewis on the ground.
