The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Freeman fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Watson sprawls well initially but Freeman persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Watson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Watson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Freeman is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Watson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Freeman's back instead.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Freeman is nestled in close to Watson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

A big strike lands for Watson! That's really hurt Freeman and he's turned his back - Watson keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Watson Jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
