Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Winn (ranked 279 p4p, 521 weight class) and Davido Monto (ranked 40 p4p, 71 weight class). Winn comes to the cage accompanied by Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Davido Monto!

Winn punishes Monto's body with a nice straight punch.
Monto ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
And Monto tries to counter it with a takedown but Winn pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Monto uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Winn.
Monto avoids the body shot from Winn.
Monto is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Winn looks to land a right hand but Monto moved out of range.

It looks like Davido Monto has been cut.
Winn slaps away a takedown attempt from Monto, before circling back to the center of the mat.

and Monto decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Winn's guard.

Monto postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Winn is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Monto, into his guard.


Monto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Winn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Winn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Winn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
