Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Valdis Zatlers (ranked 6121 p4p, 4942 weight class) and Billy Dynamite (ranked 490 p4p, 450 weight class). Dynamite has chosen Bee Gees- Stayin Alive as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Valdis Zatlers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Billy Dynamite !
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Dean Styles and David Schapiro.

Dynamite tries to land a body kick

and Zatlers counters by clinching up.

Zatlers breaks from the clinch.
Dynamite scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

It looks like Valdis Zatlers has been cut.
Dynamite lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Zatlers circles away quickly and effectively.
Zatlers throws a quick counter kick to the body but Dynamite avoids it.
A head kick misses from Dynamite .
Dynamite throws a leg kick but Zatlers checks it.
Dynamite swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Zatlers moves into the clinch.
Dynamite fails to pull guard.
Dynamite jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Zatlers walks away with a smile on his face. Dynamite gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Zatlers counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Zatlers.
Dynamite wants to get back to striking at distance but Zatlers won't allow it.
Zatlers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Valdis Zatlers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Billy Dynamite .
Dynamite looks winded!

Zatlers breaks from the clinch.

Zatlers gets a double leg takedown into Dynamite 's guard.
Dynamite is wriggling around but Zatlers manages to pass to half guard.

Zatlers seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Zatlers has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Zatlers tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dynamite knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Zatlers perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Zatlers looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dynamite with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Zatlers.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Zatlers cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Dynamite is bucking up trying to escape but Zatlers cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Zatlers takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Zatlers's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Zatlers is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Dynamite can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Zatlers looks for a takedown but Dynamite sprawls well.
A left and a right from Dynamite both land. Nice combination.
Zatlers throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Dynamite 's head.

It looks like Billy Dynamite has been cut.
Billy Dynamite seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Zatlers counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Zatlers.
Dynamite wants to get back to his feet but Zatlers passes into half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Zatlers continues to hold on tight.
Dynamite is breathing heavily.

Zatlers is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Zatlers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Zatlers decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Zatlers shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dynamite napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Dynamite tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Zatlers tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zatlers scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Dynamite is looking to improve his position but Zatlers isn't that keen on the idea.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Zatlers fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Zatlers takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Zatlers seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dynamite for as long as he can get away with.
Zatlers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dynamite stops Zatlers from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Zatlers lands a big head kick that sends Dynamite tumbling to the mat! Zatlers takes a step backwards and waves Dynamite back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Zatlers takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Zatlers throws an overhand right that drops Dynamite like a sack of potatoes! Zatlers dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Valdis Zatlers!
In defeat, Billy Dynamite stepped up to the mic, saying '... Man I got you don't worry about me!!'.
