The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leister shoots in but no luck this time.

Leister shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Rodriguez trying to keep a closed guard but Leister is proving a slippery customer.
Rodriguez is adopting a defensive guard.

Rodriguez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leister wants to control from the top but Rodriguez keeps moving.
Leister wants to stand and escape but instead Rodriguez has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Rodriguez stays in close to Leister's body and controls the position.
Rodriguez throws and elbow that misses. Leister uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rodriguez's guard. Nice move by Leister!

Leister stands up from Rodriguez's guard - Leister perhaps looking for a knockout.
Rodriguez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rodriguez is looking to slow Leister down with leg kicks.
Leister tries for a takedown but Rodriguez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Leister is breathing heavily.

Rodriguez takes the fight into the clinch.

Rodriguez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rodriguez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rodriguez throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Leister crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
