Ruas fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Krieg on the side of the head.
Krieg swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ruas getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Krieg slips under a jab from Ruas.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Krieg enables Ruas to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Krieg manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Ruas is standing up over Krieg. Krieg looks to escape but Ruas dives into side control.

Ruas has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Krieg is defending well but eventually Ruas manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Krieg has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Carlos Ruas!
A relieved looking Carlos Ruas thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
The defeated Blitz Krieg had this to say: 'I might have lost the fight but I haven't lost the war! I will seek vengeance!'.
