Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pablo has Maia pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Maia manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

A jab-cross combination lands for Maia and sends Pablo crashing to the mat! Maia follows him down to the mat - Pablo regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Pablo. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Maia lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Maia shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Maia showed some decent athleticism there.
Maia wants to stand up but Pablo has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Maia is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Pablo manages to get to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wagner Maia dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Maia cracks Pablo with a good jab.
Pablo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Maia utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pablo is working for a guillotine from mount but Maia frees his head quite easily.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Maia somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
Pablo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Maia's guard.

Maia is doing well to control the position and prevent Pablo from advancing to side control.
Pablo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Maia doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pablo.
Maia pushes Pablo off looking to stand but Pablo dives back in and keeps control.

Pablo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Maia does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Pablo is working for a kimura but Maia is defending it quite comfortably.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Pablo wants to work for an arm triangle but Maia is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pablo is trying to control. Maia wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
