The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fertit changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rustus looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fertit is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Rustus will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Rustus can't do much from the bottom here.
Rustus is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Fertit off and has taken his back!

Rustus is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Rustus is trying to stick to Fertit's back but Fertit is turning into Rustus. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rustus's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Fertit.
Fertit works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Fertit content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rustus is defending against the submission attempts here by Fertit.

Fertit seems to be looking for submissions.
Fertit throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Rustus misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Fertit is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rustus is just riding it out for now. Fertit eventually gives up the hold.
Rustus tries to get to full guard but Fertit has control of the leg.
Fertit lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Rustus is trying to maintain the position but Fertit is very close to passing his half guard.
Fertit wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rustus keeps working.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
