Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barry Jackson (ranked 6410 p4p, 4927 weight class) and Jay Mendelson (ranked 613 p4p, 532 weight class). Jackson's entrance music is Spice 1 Born II Die. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Mendelson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Mendelson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jackson as he jumps to the side.
Jackson cracks Mendelson with a right hand to the side of the head.
Jackson keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

It looks like Jay Mendelson has been cut.
Mendelson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jackson defends it nicely.
Mendelson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A little feinted left hand from Jackson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Jackson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Mendelson closes the distance and clinches up with Jackson, looking for a takedown. Mendelson pushes Jackson against the cage but Jackson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mendelson looks winded!
Mendelson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jackson defends well and Mendelson ends up having to push Jackson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Mendelson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jackson but Jackson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jackson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jackson sends Mendelson crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Jackson is motioning to the referee to let Mendelson up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Mendelson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Jackson sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Mendelson's defenses. It connects perfectly with Mendelson's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
