PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Liam (ranked 3380 p4p, 6866 weight class) and Jon Targaryen (ranked 346 p4p, 495 weight class). Liam comes to the cage accompanied by Amazing. Targaryen has chosen boom as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

A slow jab from Targaryen misses its intended target.
Liam avoids the body shot from Targaryen.
Targaryen throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Liam counters with a nice low kick that buckles Targaryen's knee momentarily.
Targaryen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Liam ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Targaryen moves away.
Targaryen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

and Liam counters with a head kick. That will keep Targaryen thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Targaryen's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Liam connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Targaryen scrambles back to his feet.

A punch lands to the side of Liam 's head but he takes it in his stride.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Liam shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Targaryen throws out a loose jab but Liam uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Liam cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Targaryen throws an overhand right that lands on Liam's shoulder, as Liam tries to avoid the shot.
Liam definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Liam thuds his right hand into Targaryen's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Targaryen scores with a jab to the body.
Liam lands with an uppercut that bounces Targaryen off the cage and back into range.
Liam slips a straight right by Targaryen.
Liam throws a head kick that misses.

Liam walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

and Liam counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Liam uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Targaryen.
Liam sizes up Targaryen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Liam ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Liam throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Targaryen sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Liam is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Targaryen doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Liam motions for Targaryen to come forward. Liam throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

The fighters circling - Targaryen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Liam feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Targaryens jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Targaryen rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Liam counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Targaryen thinking.

Targaryen looks to land a left hand but Liam moved out of range nicely.
It looked like Liam was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Targaryen.

As Targaryen backs away, Liam returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Liam throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Targaryen on the side of the head.
Targaryen might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Targaryen gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Targaryen is still on wobbly legs! Can Liam finish him?
Targaryen looks up at the clock. Bad move! Liam lands a right hand from hell, dropping Targaryen. Liam pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bruce Liam!
Bruce Liam was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
