Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mo Kendo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mo Kendo has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mo Kendo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Jones!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kendo closes the distance and pushes Jones back into the cage.
Jones looking for a takedown.

Kendo breaks from the clinch.
Kendo uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jones.
Kendo explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Kendo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Kendo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jones lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Kendo sprawling to the canvas. Jones follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Kendo hang on?


It looks like Mo Kendo has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kendo works his way to full guard. Good work.
Kendo throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Kendo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Kendo shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Kendo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jones throws a right and a left that Kendo avoids nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kendo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.

Jones is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Kendo lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones wants to get up but he can't break Kendo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Kendo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mo Kendo will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Kendo clinches.
Kendo goes for a takedown in the clinch but Jones prevents it.
Jones tries to work over Kendo's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Kendo misses with a short punch on the inside.
Kendo slowing the pace effectively.

Kendo works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Jones keeping moving, preventing Kendo from controlling successfully.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kendo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Jones Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kendo's back instead.
Mo Kendo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kendo manages to reverse the position and now he's in Jones's guard. Nice work there by Kendo.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kendo sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jones's guard.
Kendo is keen to just control but Jones is a slippery customer.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kendo wants to finish this one by submission but Jones is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kendo.

Kendo stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Kendo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jones is fending him off so far but Kendo persists. Nope, Jones circles away and we're back to standing.
Kendo tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Jones closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Jones throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kendo sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Kendo shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Kendo is pressing down on Jones's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jones is holding on for now.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mo Kendo showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Kendo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
