These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leafar tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kongo swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Leafar tries to close the distance and clinch but Kongo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Leafar fails with an attempt to clinch.
Leafar tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kongo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kongo stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Kongo closes the distance and clinches.
Kongo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kongo fails to land with a series of punches.
Kongo bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Leafar's head backwards.
It looks like Rafael Leafar has been cut.
Kongo throws an overhand right that drops Leafar like a sack of potatoes! Kongo dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kingo Kongo!
