Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Ragout Mendy (ranked 1871 p4p, 3804 weight class) and Sandy Meadows (ranked 276 p4p, 501 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pierre Ragout Mendy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sandy Meadows!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Meadows moves in looking to clinch but Mendy pushes him off.
Meadows ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Mendy misses with a body punch

and Meadows counters with a single leg into guard. Mendy didn't expect that.
Mendy wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Meadows stops Mendy from standing up.
Meadows advances to half guard.
Meadows looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Meadows stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mendy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Meadows has momentary wrist control but Mendy slips an elbow through the middle.
Mendy lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Mendy is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meadows utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mendy is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Mendy not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Mendy wants to control from the top but Meadows keeps moving.
Mendy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Mendy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meadows swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mendy looks up at the clock and then as Meadows takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Mendy smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That's time! Mendy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

The crowd cheers as Mendy lands an impressive looking overhand right. Meadows doesn't seem phased though.

Mendy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Meadows takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Mendy is trying to get an arm triangle but Meadows is defending well.

Mendy controls the position from side control.
Mendy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Meadows keeps working.

Meadows is not content to let Mendy control the position.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mendy slips a nice elbow through Meadows's hands, connecting with Meadows's forehead.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Mendy swings for the body but Meadows moves out of range.
Mendy cracks Meadows with an open hand slap.

Meadows gets caught flat footed, as Mendy shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Mendy stands up over Meadows, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Meadows is rocked!

Meadows working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mendy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mendy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mendy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Meadows can do to turn this around?
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Meadows is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Meadows takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Mendy chips away with some ground and pound.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mendy's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Mendy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Meadows's guard.

Mendy looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Meadows with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Well, if Mendy is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
