PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Noah (ranked 4715 p4p, 24890 weight class) and Ceder Randal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randal has chosen Spoonman as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bruce Noah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ceder Randal !
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Chris Dean and John Mangel.

Randal shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Noah has one foot on Randal 's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Noah tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Randal paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Randal throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Noah.

Noah fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Randal sprawls well initially but Noah persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Randal is not content to let Noah control the position.
Noah throws a strike but Randal avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Noah wants to control from the top but Randal keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Noah postures up in Randal 's guard and throws a big left but Randal blocks it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Randal can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Noah throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Randal .
Randal is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Noah moves into the clinch successfully.

Noah breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Randal shoots in for a takedown but Noah shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Noah manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Randal on his heels. He'll look to pass Randal 's guard now, I'm sure.
Noah slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Noah seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Randal for as long as he can get away with.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Noah accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Noah misses with a wild combination.
A nice side step and Randal releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Noah shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Noah was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Noah has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Randal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Noah. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bruce Noah dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Noah throws a front kick that sends Randal stumbling back into the cage.
Noah is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Randal can do to turn this around?

Noah pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Randal on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Noah is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Randal like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Randal from another fist facial!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bruce Noah!
Ceder Randal spoke after the fight, saying 'My opponent was god awful today. Pure luck. '.
