The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
North shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Crimson wants to sweep but no luck.
North must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Crimson controls North momentarily but North frees himself.
Crimson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
North chips away with some ground and pound.
North postures up in Crimson's guard and throws a big left but Crimson blocks it.
North has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Crimson is proving hard to escape from.
North decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
North feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
North wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Crimson's closed guard. He's half up but Crimson has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Crimson pivots and extends the arm, North falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Crimson! Well done that man!
