PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Dawson Jr (ranked 5099 p4p, 6222 weight class) and The Mass (ranked 420 p4p, 450 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Dawson Jr bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Mass's head backwards.

It looks like The Mass has been cut.
Dawson Jr throws a right and a left that both miss.
Nice uppercut lands for Dawson Jr. That snapped Mass's head back.
Dawson Jr slaps away a takedown attempt from Mass, before circling back to the center of the mat.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Dawson Jr is looking for a triangle here but Mass uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mass is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dawson Jr can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That was a close round but I would say that Jack Dawson Jr will probably get the nod.

Mass is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Dawson Jr defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Mass is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Dawson Jr has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Mass has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Dawson Jr taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Mass doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). The Mass!
After the fight, The Mass was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
