Smith drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hootenanny dodges the ground and pound from Smith.
Hootenanny definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Hootenanny regains half guard, as Smith was trying to land strikes.

Smith throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Hootenanny to regain full guard.

Smith slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith wants to control from the top but Hootenanny keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Smith throwing strikes from guard but Hootenanny blocks nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith throws an elbow that misses. Hootenanny uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Smith's guard. Nice move by Hootenanny!

Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Smith throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hootenanny's waist but Hootenanny gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smith off to one side.

It looked like Hootenanny wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Smith misses with a takedown attempt - Hootenanny sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ozkar Hootenanny has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Smith.

Smith shoots in looking for a takedown but Hootenanny manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Smith's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Smith has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Smith there as he acknowledges the shot.

Hootenanny is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Smith with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hootenanny to score with a decent uppercut.
