The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pitbull tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Alves paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Pitbull moves in looking to clinch but Alves pushes him off.
Pitbull is looking to clinch but Alves is avoiding it.
Alves shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Alves is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pitbull is just riding it out for now. Alves eventually gives up the hold.
Alves is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Pitbull wants to improve his position but Alves is controlling well.
Pitbull is working hard here to advance position.
Pitbull is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
