PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Brand (ranked 1946 p4p, 1992 weight class) and Paul Starker (ranked 77 p4p, 80 weight class). Starker has chosen Catrin O'Neill - Ar Lan Y Mor as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 21 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Starker!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.

Starker throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Brand was covering up waiting for the punch and Starker finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Brand manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Starker creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Brand's defenses.
Starker pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Starker pushes off an throws an elbow but Brand leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Starker gets through Brand's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
A frustrated look appears on Brand's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Brand is pressed against the cage. Starker pushes back and unleashes a big elbow that really hurts Brand! Two more big strikes from Starker and Brand crumples to the mat and taps out furiously due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Paul Starker!
A very excited looking Paul Starker rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
