Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Edson Castro (ranked 2865 p4p, 2449 weight class) and Frank Morrison (ranked 333 p4p, 297 weight class). Morrison comes into a darkened arena with his song building. March kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Edson Castro could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Frank Morrison's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

Castro throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Morrison's waist but Morrison gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Castro off to one side.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Morrison wants to control but Castro is keeping him busy.

Castro tries to lock up and control but Morrison gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Morrison takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Morrison looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Castro with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Morrison seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Morrison throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Castro tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Morrison is in Castro's guard.
