PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gavin Burns (ranked 79 p4p, 1271 weight class) and Hakim Harko (ranked 10 p4p, 152 weight class). Burns's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Lovely Jubbly. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Harko tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Burns manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Harko throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Harko fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Burns on the side of the head.

It looks like Gavin Burns has been cut.
Burns throws a hook to the side of Harko's head but Harko sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Harko lands a really nice looking cross but Burns seems unphased.

Harko tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Harko throws the left hand but Burns avoids the punch easily.
Harko tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Burns paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Harko looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hakim Harko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice defenses there by Burns.

Harko throws a shot from downtown. Burns moves away and avoids it.
Harko might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Burns lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Harko backwards.

That has opened up Hakim Harko's cut even more.

Burns breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Burns throwing a counter right hand but Harko manages to avoid it.
Burns finds Harko's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Harko flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Burns lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Harko will be OK.
