Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mono Loco (ranked 2125 p4p, 1590 weight class) and Sebastian Shot (ranked 221 p4p, 180 weight class). Mono Loco has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mono Loco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 25 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sebastian Shot!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shot misses with a looping left.
Shot throws a looping overhand right but Loco ducks down to avoid it.
Loco fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Loco looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Shot misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Loco tries to counter with a takedown but Shot is quick to defend against it.
Shot throws an off balance right hand

and Loco counters with a single leg into guard. Shot didn't expect that.
Shot wants to hit a sweep here but Loco passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Shot there!
Shot wants to hold on but Loco pushes him away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Loco manages to capitalize on a mistake by Shot to take his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shot trying to control the hands but Loco won't let him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shot is really stuck here.
Loco biding his time, looking for the opening.
Loco seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Shot for as long as he can get away with.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Loco is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Shot defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
You can see the frustration on Shot's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Shot is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Loco gets his way!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Shot trying to control the position but Loco manages to sink in the hooks.

Shot has hold of Loco's leg, trying to break free but it's let Loco lock up a rear naked choke! This could be big trouble! Shot is turning an unusual color here… he's out! Loco throws him to one side and jumps onto the cage to celebrate with his fans.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mono Loco!
A relieved looking Mono Loco thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
