Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Freddy Faz (ranked 5258 p4p, 4702 weight class) and Sger Ergser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Freddy Faz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sger Ergser!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nice sprawl there from Faz as Ergser shoots in.

Ergser gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Ergser has eaten all the pies!

Faz has picked Ergser up - he's going for a ride! Faz dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ergser wants to improve his position but Faz is controlling well.

Ergser wants to stand back up but Faz manages to pass into side control.
Faz wants to control but Ergser is keeping him busy.
Ergser is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Faz working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
You can see the frustration on Ergser's face as Faz controls the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Faz lands some shots froms side control.
Faz is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Ergser's shoulder. That is not cool.
Ergser can't do much from the bottom here.
Ergser might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Faz haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Faz advances nicely into full mount.

Faz controlling his opponent.
Faz scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Faz tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Faz is trying to take his opponent's back.
Ergser is working to get back to half guard.

Faz wants to control the pace but Ergser is squirming around nicely.
Ergser wants to control but Faz is having none of it.
Faz lands a big shot there that rocks Ergser but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Faz throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Ergser moves into the clinch successfully.
Ergser jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Faz walks away with a smile on his face. Ergser gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nice takedown defense from Faz. No joy for Ergser on that attempt.
Faz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ergser can do to turn this around?

Faz drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ergser tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Faz presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ergser takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Faz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Faz lands a couple of good shots and Ergser has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Faz is trying to stick to Ergser's back but Ergser is turning into Faz. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Faz's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Ergser.

Faz is looking for a triangle but Ergser pushes his legs off easily.
Faz looking for a sweep. Not yet Faz, not yet.
Ergser trying to control the position from guard on top but Faz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Faz is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Ergser wants to control from the top but Faz keeps moving.

Faz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ergser can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Faz has his hands on Ergser's head, controlling the position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Faz looking for a sweep. Not yet Faz, not yet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ergser closes the distance and clinches.
Ergser misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Faz.
Ergser wants a takedown.
Freddy Faz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sger Ergser.

Faz blocks an uppercut.
Faz drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ergser gets the underhooks and prevents it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ergser is pressed up against the cage. Faz has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ergser down to the mat. Ergser avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Freddy Faz dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Faz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ergser as he avoids it easily.
Ergser unleashes a big counter combination but Faz bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Faz here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Ergser avoids the head kick by Faz.
Ergser drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Faz defends it well.

Ergser closes the distance and clinches.
Ergser wants a takedown but no success here.
Ergser working aggressively here.
Faz wants to get back to striking at distance but Ergser won't allow it.

Faz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Faz misses with a few strikes there.
Ergser fails with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Faz fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ergser to the ground. Faz is now in Ergser's guard.

Faz postures up.

Ergser looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Faz has picked Ergser up and slammed him! Ergser can't keep hold of the triangle and Faz manages to pass to side control!

Faz tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Ergser is working to avoid the ground and pound but Faz connects with a decent elbow.

You can see the frustration on Ergser's face as Faz controls the position.
Faz looks up at the clock and then as Ergser takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Faz smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Faz landing a few strikes.
Ergser takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Faz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Faz tries to stand but Ergser is controlling his head.

Faz is looking to take a break and control but Ergser is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Faz controlling the position from side mount.
Ergser is trying to improve his position.
Faz is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Faz trying to control the action but Ergser is working from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Faz throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Faz throws a head kick but Ergser moves out of range.
Ergser looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Faz is fending him off so far but Ergser persists. Nope, Faz circles away and we're back to standing.
Freddy Faz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sger Ergser.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Faz scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Ergser wants to clinch up but Faz keeps it at a distance.
Sger Ergser has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Freddy Faz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Freddy Faz showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Faz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
