The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ikora looks for a takedown but Sherk sprawls well.
Ikora fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Sherk fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ikora sprawls well initially but Sherk persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Ikora is looking to control Sherk's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ikora avoid being mounted?

Ikora is looking for a sweep. Sherk is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Ikora doesn't have the hooks in and Sherk manages to turn into his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sherk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ikora. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sherk shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ikora napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Ikora takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Sherk scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Ikora to see if he's OK.

Sherk remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ikora sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Sherk tries to pass to full mount but Ikora defends it.
Ikora tries to roll over but Sherk keeps him under control.
Sherk scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Sherk not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Sherk is nestled in close to Ikora, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Ikora gets back to full guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

This has been an exciting period of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Kurisu Ikora will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Sherk shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Ikora tries to roll over but Sherk keeps him under control.
Sherk is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Ikora works his way to full guard. Good work.

Ikora has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sherk can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sherk is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Sherk lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Ikora down.
Oh Ikora is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ikora is not content to let Sherk control the position.

Sherk cracks Ikora with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Sherk immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Ikora is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Sherk!
