The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pukki misses with a looping left.
Pukki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Pukki circles away from the clinch attempt.
Almeida moves in looking to clinch but Pukki pushes him off.
Almeida fails in his attempt to clinch.

Pukki clinches up with Almeida and pushes him back against the cage.
Almeida tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Almeida throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Pukki blocks it with crossed arms.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pukki throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Almeida takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Almeida tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Pukki counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Pukki lands with a nice body punch.
Pukki bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Pukki lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Raimo Pukki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Almeida takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Almeida takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Pukki throws a one two combo.
Pukki thuds a left hand into Almeida's body.
Pukki throws a nice looking combination but Almeida bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Pukki lands a nice shot that snaps Almeida's head back.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Pukki connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Pukki misses with a looping left.

Pukki feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Almeida sprawling to the canvas! Almeida rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Pukki finish him?!

Almeida is rocked!
Pukki throws a shot from downtown. Almeida moves away and avoids it.
Almeida is still on wobbly legs! Can Pukki finish him?
Almeida steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pukki.
Almeida seems to have recovered his senses.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Pukki takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Pukki misses with a hook. Almeida ducked under it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pukki connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Almeida! He's out on his feet! Pukki rushes in and drops Almeida with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
