PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between chung lie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Ramsley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). lie comes to the ring accompanied by Face Of Meth. Ramsley is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Trooper. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, chung lie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Ramsley!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
lie moves in looking to clinch but Ramsley pushes him off.
lie throws a series of punches but Ramsley moves out of range.

lie pushes Ramsley up against the ropes in a clinch.

Ramsley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
lie swinging wilding here.
lie tries a head kick but it misses.
lie misses with a head kick.
lie tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

lie closes the distance and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ramsley wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but lie has him pressed against the ropes.
Ramsley wants to break the clinch but can't.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, lie creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Ramsley has had enough of the clinch but lie keeps him there for the moment.

Ramsley has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics lie uses from the top position.

lie drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ramsley gets the underhooks and prevents it.

lie has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ramsley regains guard immediately.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

lie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ramsley can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

lie pulls out of a head kick attempt.
lie lands a body shot.
lie lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ramsley circles away quickly and effectively.
Ramsley misses with a head kick.
Crunch! lie slams his shin into Ramsley's torso.

lie rushes Ramsley and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
The referee calls for lie to work.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
lie effectively controlling the action here.
Ramsley takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

lie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
lie dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ramsley. That did some damage!

lie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ramsley, pushing him back against the ropes.
lie tries to score a body lock takedown but Ramsley shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

lie is nestled in close to Ramsley, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

lie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ramsley with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Well lie has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
