Janik had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Boy is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Janik Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Boy's back instead.

Boy is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Janik gets his way!

Janik is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Boy has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Janik is looking for the choke from the back position but Boy is controlling his hands well.
Janik has the hooks in. Boy is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Boy turns into Janik and is now in his guard.

Boy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Janik manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Boy has Janik in his guard.

Janik drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Boy dives on top into guard.

Janik has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Boy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Boy drops back, looking for a kneebar! Janik looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Janik looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Janik!
Janik tries to move to mount but Boy blocks the move with his legs.
