Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Liquid Gold (ranked 732 p4p, 1647 weight class) and Ivan Volkov (ranked 99 p4p, 189 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 27 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Liquid Gold!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Volkov!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.

Gold scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Volkov doesn't seem bothered though.

Volkov feints and as Gold raises his hands in defense, Volkov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Gold has his hands on Volkov's head, controlling the position.
Volkov missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Volkov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Volkov is in close to Gold's body, working some short punches and elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Volkov throws an elbow that misses. Gold uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Volkov's guard. Nice move by Gold!

Volkov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gold is looking for a sweep. Volkov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Volkov is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gold sees it coming and defends easily.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Volkov working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Volkov is looking to work some ground and pound but Gold has wrist control.

Volkov is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gold has managed to free his arm - good work.
Volkov is trying to control the action in half guard but Gold is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Volkov throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gold is looking for a sweep. Volkov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gold has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Volkov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gold with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Gold wants to get back to full guard but Volkov has passed into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Gold scores with a push kick.
Gold throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Volkov! But no joy.
Volkov has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Volkov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Gold keeps the fight on the outside.
A jab lands there for Volkov.
Volkov lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Volkov fails with the takedown.

Gold catches Volkov with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Gold looks to land a right hand but Volkov moved out of range.
Volkov ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

enabling Gold to counter with a crisp jab.
Volkov uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gold.
Volkov looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Volkov is working Gold over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Volkov looks up at the clock and then as Gold takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Volkov smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Ivan Volkov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Horrible takedown attempt by Volkov or perhaps it was just good defense by Gold, which made it look bad.
Gold avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Gold fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Volkov manages to avoid it.

Volkov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gold sprawls well initially but Volkov persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Volkov frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Volkov throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Gold because Volkov loaded up on that one.

Volkov cracks Gold with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Oh Gold is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

BOOM! Volkov connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Volkov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gold is bucking up trying to escape but Volkov cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Gold seems to have got his legs back now.
Gold wants to control but Volkov is having none of it.
Volkov tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Volkov throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

I've got Volkov winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
